All of us, at one stage in our lazy phase in life, has come up with an excuse not to get our butts out of bed, or off the couch, to do some exercise. Every RESULTS edition, we will tackle the most pathetic excuse for not exercising that we have heard since the last edition – and nail it!!
Our Autumn Edition, Most Pathetic Exercise Excuse: It’s Raining!
Some people call it rain, we like to call it “Free water out of the sky” and yes, Australia has finally gotten some of that free water falling in the right places!! And yes, people have been using it as an excuse not to exercise!!
“I can’t exercise today, it’s raining”
Apart from the absolute obvious that it does not rain inside and there are so many great indoor exercise activities to do inside, let’s look at why exercise outside, even if it is raining, is such a great experience...
It’s cooler!
You sweat when you exercise… rain water will wash it right off!!
Rain water is great for your skin and your hair!
Puddles to jump in can make your walk or run much more fun!
Less people on the beach, in the park on your running track, when it is raining… you will have more room to move!
An exercise session in the rain leaves you feeling exhilarated and refreshed
Of course have a hot shower when you get back from your rain session but a little common sense before thinking that being cold or wet gives you a cold…
A cold is caused by germs and germs are everywhere, hot or cold. The challenge comes from not being fit, healthy and strong, which means your immune system is not as strong as it should be to fight off germs and bacteria...and then you are more likely to get a cold!
Be fit, strong and healthy and get sick less often and…
Enjoy the experience of singing, dancing, jumping and yes, EVEN exercising in the rain!!
OUTCOME: Excuse Nailed!!
